Hereinafter referred to as the Tour Operator.

The Tour Operator provides packaged tourism services available on the website in accordance with the terms of use outlined below.

1. General Terms

1.1. These terms govern the relationship between the Tour Operator and the client (hereinafter – the Traveler) regarding tour booking, payment, changes, cancellation, and complaints.

1.2. Each booking is considered a remote agreement.

1.3. The agreement is concluded in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Latvia and the European Union.

1.4. Once the Traveler makes a prepayment, the agreement is considered mutually confirmed and automatically concluded.

1.5. These terms do not apply to services that, under Article 16 of the Tourism Law, are not considered packaged tourism services — for example, tours lasting less than 24 hours without overnight accommodation.

2. Booking and Payment

2.1. To reserve a spot on a tour, the Traveler must make a prepayment of 25% of the total tour price. This fee is considered a reservation fee, which includes the operator’s services and guarantees a place on the tour.

2.2. The remaining amount is to be paid on the day of the tour, in cash, directly to each service provider according to the day’s program.

3. Cancellation, Changes, and Refunds

3.1. Traveler Cancellations

3.1.1. If the Traveler cancels at least 5 days before the tour, the full prepayment is refunded.
3.1.2. If the cancellation occurs less than 5 days before the tour, the reservation fee is non-refundable.
3.1.3. If the Traveler does not show up without prior notice, no refund will be issued.

3.2. Exceptions

3.2.1. If the Traveler cannot participate due to objective reasons (e.g., sudden illness, accident), a relevant document (doctor’s note, etc.) must be provided. Refunds or rescheduling will be considered individually.

3.3. Tour Rescheduling or Replacement of Participant

3.3.1. The Traveler may reschedule their tour to another date if notice is given at least 5 days in advance. The reservation fee will be transferred to the new date.
3.3.2. The Traveler may transfer their spot to another person, with prior coordination with the Tour Operator. Any additional costs incurred due to replacement shall be covered by the Traveler.

3.4. Tour Cancellation by the Tour Operator

3.4.1. A tour may be canceled due to:

  • Insufficient number of participants

  • Unfavorable weather conditions

  • Force majeure or other unforeseen circumstances

In such cases, the Traveler will be offered:

  • Rescheduling to a different date

  • An alternative tour

  • A full (100%) refund if neither option is acceptable

4. Tour Operator’s Responsibility

4.1. The Tour Operator commits to providing transportation, the described tour program, and services as accurately as possible.

4.2. The Tour Operator is not responsible for changes outside of its control (weather, third-party delays, force majeure, etc.).

5. Traveler’s Responsibilities and Obligations

5.1. The Traveler must arrive on time and be punctual.
5.2. The Traveler must follow safety rules and instructions from the guide/organizer.
5.3. Inappropriate or unsafe behavior may result in removal from the tour without a refund.
5.4. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
5.5. The Traveler is responsible for their health condition and physical ability to participate. It is recommended to inform the organizer about any health issues or special needs in advance.

6. Dispute Resolution and Complaints

6.1. In case of issues during the tour, the Traveler must immediately contact the group leader or Tour Operator representative.
6.2. Complaints must be submitted in writing via email to: latvianadventureagency@gmail.com
6.3. If the issue cannot be resolved through negotiation, the Traveler may contact the Consumer Rights Protection Centre (PTAC), the Consumer Dispute Commission, or a court.

7. Photo and Video Materials

7.1. Photography and filming may take place during the tour.
7.2. The captured materials may be used for Latvian Adventure Agency marketing purposes unless the Traveler has objected in advance.

8. Personal Data Protection

8.1. The Tour Operator processes personal data solely for the purpose of organizing the tour, in accordance with the GDPR and Latvian legislation.
8.2. Data is not shared with third parties, except where necessary for providing the service (accommodation, catering, transportation, etc.).

More About Latgale

Latgale is the greenest and most expansive region of Latvia – a land of lakes where nature and human craftsmanship breathe between hills and blooming fields of buckwheat and hemp. The Dvietes floodplain nature park, the healing spring, and the mystical Velnezers (“Devil’s Lake”) add a special spiritual energy to this land.

Here, faith is alive – the Aglona Basilica, pilgrimages, roadside crosses, and chapel shrines are all symbols of Roman Catholic traditions deeply woven into everyday life. Traveling through the countryside, one can still see horses and carriages – a testament to respect for ancestral heritage and the rhythm of nature.

In Latgale’s villages, potters welcome visitors into their workshops, where brown and black ceramics shine with traditional symbols. You’ll meet weavers and craftsmen of ancient trades, and hosts dressed in Latgalian folk costumes serve home-baked bread, smoked meats from the black sauna, buļbešņīki (barley dumplings), and fermented oat jelly. At Lake Rāzna, enjoy freshly caught fish prepared using age-old recipes, enriched with Latgalian songs and heartfelt hospitality. For dessert – asuškas (sweet curd dumplings) and creamy pearl barley pudding.

Latgale’s homes are adorned with brightly colored handwoven blankets, delicate embroidery, and ornate jewelry – each piece carrying ancient knowledge and craftsmanship. Wooden churches, with their warmth and simplicity, bring a soulful peace to the landscape. The statue of Māra, symbolizing faith and hope, watches over the villages and fields, inspiring both locals and visitors.

Latgalian, a unique dialect, can be heard throughout the region – enriching Latvia’s cultural diversity and reflecting Latgale’s deep historical roots. The songs of the Latgale Song Festival fill the air, choir voices unite in harmony, and humor flows through tales and anecdotes that reflect the joy and wit of Latgalians.

Latgale does not reveal itself in haste – it opens to those willing to sleep in the hay, sip herbal teas, listen to folktales, and surrender to wonder. It is a place where nature and humanity breathe as one – Latgale, our green heart.
